In the early morning hours of Saturday, December 7, 2019, David M. Charles, Jr. departed this world and entered a land where there will be no more sorrow, sickness or pain. David entered this world on July 5, 1958, the oldest son of the late Mr. David Sr. and Josephine Perry Charles.

David received his formal education from the public schools of Florence School District One. He was a proud member of the Wilson High School graduating class of 1976. While in high school, David was a member of the Wilson High School Basketball and Football teams. His proudest achievement was that of being a member of the Wilson High School Marching Pride, where he was an original member of the Kamasi Brothers, the Marching Pride's Drum Line.

After graduating from high school, David was gainfully employed with La-Z-Boy of Florence. Soon afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 16 years. After retiring from active duty in the Army, David began a career as and Over the Road Trucker (ORT). He began this career as an owner/operator and eventually drove for several trucking companies. Upon his declining health, David retired from trucking and became a school bus driver for Florence District One. He continued as a school bus driver until the time of his demise.

David was an avid sports fan. He was well versed in various sports, especially basketball and football. He was a proud supporter of Wilson High School Athletics, and showed his support by attending numerous basketball and football games.

David's parents instilled in him at a young age the importance of God. David became a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. David loved God and attended church.

David was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend
