John P. Folcik, 79, of Southington passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Alexandrina "Shandra" (Mongillo) Folcik. He was born in Southington the son of the late Peter and Helen (Kaminski) Folcik. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement he was employed by the State of CT in the Attorney General's Office as a Fiscal Administrative Officer. John was a dedicated family man and enjoyed being with his family. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He loved to grow vegetables in his garden and he was an avid New England Patriot and UCONN Women's basketball fan. In addition to his wife he leaves his two children, and 3 grandchildren. He also leaves 2 brothers and 2 sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father in law Lincoln and Alexandrina Mongillo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:15 am from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church for a Mass at 10 am. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
