Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Orr’s Mortuary, Rock Island with the Reverend Dr. Melvin L Grimes Officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the Mortuary.
He was born on May 3, 1943 in Rock Island, IL to Edith Anna Ganaway and John Henry Tyler. He graduated with honors from Rock Island High School in 1961. Where he held the state championship for the High Jump in 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. In 1998 he retired from International Harvester, East Moline where he was employed as a machinist. He enjoyed listening to Motown classics and enjoyed taking rides. He was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan and loved watching Westerns.
He met Stella Marie Cortez in 1975 and went on to marry her on June 14, 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Marie Tyler; daughters, Bridgette Tyler, Houston, TX, Benita “Baby Girl” (Darrell) Bester, Moline, Pauline Cortez, East Moline; sons, Jeffrey Claude Tyler, Jr., Nashville, TN, Larry McQueen and David Judson, Davenport, Michael Lynn (Stacy) Tyler, Bettendorf, and Matthew Timothy Escamiller, Rock Island; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
