Born in Fort Campbell, KY, he was a son of John Mark Cothran, Sr. and Nancy Ruth Brown Cothran of Belton. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was a Palmetto High School graduate, Class of 2008, and attended Clemson University. Mark was an organ donor and because of his generosity, three people will have an improved quality of life.
Additional survivors include, a brother, Samuel Cothran (Melissa); sister, Jessica Cothran, all of Belton; maternal grandparents, Wilton and Ruth Brown of Spartanburg; paternal grandparents, James Kenneth and Joan Cothran of Belton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
