Margie Lu Williams, age 69, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 16, 1950, to Elsie Orr and John Virgil Williams. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her oldest sister, Angela Williams Bagwell. Margie had no children of her own, but all children loved her as we all did. She was affectionately known as "Auntie M."
Margie is survived by her older sister Kathy Williams Payne; former brother-in-law W. Leo Payne and fiancé Shirley Babb; nieces Kaitlin Michele (Cat Carnes) Payne; Tebor (Jimmy) Smith; a great-niece; and a host of extended family and friends.
Margie retired in 2015 from The Kroger Co. after 15 years of service at the Hamilton Mill location. She worked for a number of other places but was happy at Kroger and had numerous loyal customers.
Margie went to Heaven on November 22, 2019, after an extended illness. Many thanks to all who supported Margie, cared for her, and prayed for her. Special thanks to Aberdeen Place Hospice and Sunrise of Johns Creek.
Interment will be at the Old Roswell Cemetery on Monday, November 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m.
