Theresa Ann Roberts, 69, of Tama, died on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Traditional Graveside Services at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker. Traditional Wake at Glenn Roberts' Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Theresa was born on June 24, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest Roberts Sr. and Charlene Masquat.
Theresa grew up on the Meskwaki Settlement. She attended Haskell College in Lawrence, Kansas, where she took nursing courses. She lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Iowa. She enjoyed going to the casino, cleaning, reading, and playing dice with family and friends.
Surviving are her brothers, Ernest Roberts Jr. and Robin Roberts; adopted brother, Pete Wanatee; adopted sister, Sheila Brown; her children, Prince Wiley of Oklahoma, Charles Lynn Poafpybitty of Tama, Iowa, Troylynn Poafpybitty, Gaston Keahna III, and Thomasine Keahna all of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emmett Roberts; and sister, Patricia Roberts.
