Obituary: Tommy Stone

Thomas "Tommy" H. Stone, 95, of Columbia died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at The Bluffs in Columbia.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 W. Business Loop 70, with the Rev. Kathy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stone was born April 3, 1908, in Sturgeon to Thomas and Linnie Pollock Stone.
He married Ruby Perkins on July 11, 1931, and she preceded him in death.
He graduated from Sturgeon High School. He was a foreman with Buildings and Grounds at the University of Missouri-Columbia and retired after 38 years of service.
He was a member of Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, a daughter,two brothers, a sister, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilson Stone and Earl Stone, and four sisters, Jewell Rosebaum, Pauline Ridgeway, Mary Rose Thompson and Iris Mello.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, 1108 W. Ash St., Columbia, Mo., 65203.
