Janet Christine Holland was born April 8, 1935 in Vancouver, Wash., the first child of Jarrett and Christine Jones, Sr. She died peacefully in her sleep after living with Alzheimer's disease for a few years.

When she was 2 years old, the family moved to Portland when her father took a position with AW Davis Supply Co. They settled in N.E. Portland where they were close to, and enjoyed time with, the Jones and Weigel clans.

At age 8, her mother introduced her to the game of golf, which became a lifelong passion. When Janet attended Grant High School, she was captain of the golf team and competed in the Oregon State Jr. Golf Tournaments. Janet drove a 1941 Chevy convertible and was often seen at Yaws with her friends in tow.
After Grant, Janet headed south to Oregon State University to major in Education with a minor in Business. Her social life included making lifelong friends at Chi Omega and making a lifetime partner when she answered the call, "Who wants to drink beer?" It was at the party that followed that question where she met Ralph.

Janet and Ralph were married senior year at OSU, completed their degrees and started a family. After three boys in 3 years, they settled on Berthold St., in Beaverton in 1959. When the boys were all in school, Janet began a 40 year career at AW Davis Supply Co. Eventually, she and her younger brother Jarrett, Jr. owned the company and Janet became the CFO. As a longtime resident of Beaverton, Janet was a member of the Jaycees, St. Cecilia's parish and a vital contributor to numerous community activities. After the boys were grown, Janet and Ralph became ardent supporters of Beaver football, bleeding orange and black! Getting to fly on the team plane and attending bowl games were memorable highlights of those years. Janet so enjoyed life. She loved her family and friends. Whether it be playing a round of golf, dancing to good music, attending a play, relaxing at the Oregon coast or drinking wine with friends, Janet was up for a good time!
Her zest for life was cut short a few years before she died by her struggle with Alzheimer's, but her spirit will live on with all who had the luck to know her.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of nearly 63 years, Ralph; son, Tom (Char); daughter-in-law, Carolyn; brother, Jarrett, Jr. (Becky); grandchildren, Andrew, Megan, Ryan, Chloe, Natalie and James.
Janet was preceded in death by sons, Ralph, Jr. and Steve.

Private interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements by Springer and Son.
