Harry W. Snell of Columbia died Saturday, June 6, 1992, at Regional Care Center. He was 72. Mr. Snell worked as a graphic artist for American Press and retired in 1983. Before that he worked for the Columbia Daily Tribune for 26 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 280. Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ford presiding. A burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Columbia to John and Ada DeHaven Snell. He married JoAnn Swan on May 22, 1969, and she survives. Mr. Snell is survived by a son, four daughters and a sister; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Memorial may be given to the American Cancer Society. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
