Jeremy Wayne Martin, 44, of Columbus, passed from this life Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home.
Jeremy loved life. He loved his family, his jobs, the Chicago Bears, Kentucky Wildcats basketball, the Chicago White Sox and especially deep dish Chicago style pizza. But his two main loves were Jesus and his wife. He was born with a servant’s heart and served others on a daily basis. He served at Hope Royale in Bethany, MO where he met his wife. They then served together on a mission trip to Haiti with Hope Missions Outreach. He was currently serving many others at First Baptist Church Columbus and Burney Baptist Church. His true passion was to lead others to Christ. He was gifted and called by God into the ministry. He worked hard, he studied hard and he loved hard. Always giving 100% of himself in everything he did. He had an enlarged vision to do more, to be more, to reach more for Christ. It was his passion and his heart's desire, a fire that God had placed deep within him, to reach as many as he could to introduce them to the Lord and help bring them to salvation. He knew and experienced God’s grace, love and forgiveness many times in his life and he wanted others to have and experience it too. “Taste and see that the Lord is good”. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”. Jeremy would pray, “give me one more Lord, one more that I might lead them to you”. His love, his passion, his loyalty, his hard work, his dedication, his smile and his laughter will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him. He impacted many lives in the 44 years God allowed him to have and he made it count each and every day. He left a legacy worth striving for by everyone.
He was member of Decatur County Baptist Association and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
On February 14, 2016 he received his license to the Christian Ministry through First Baptist Church. He was ordained as a Reverend, April 21, 2018 by the Missionary Church International in Franklin, Indiana.
Mr. Martin was a student at Christian Leadership Institute of American Baptist Churches, Harrison College and Ohio Christian University.
Jeremy was born May 7, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of William L. and Janice Gail Barnes Martin.
He married Jackie J. O’Haver, June 1, 2013.
