Mike Kurt Burton, 59, of Pierce City, MO, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 while at his residence.

Mike was born on April 21, 1960 in Fort Benning, GA, son of William and Ilse (Foltin) Burton. Mike graduated from Monett High School with the Class of 1979. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably for three years, then transferring to the Army Reserves. During his enlistment, Mike was stationed in Germany and had worked as an X-Ray Tech in the military hospital. Throughout his life, Mike had a great talent in music and art. He was an exceptional Artist and Guitarist and some of his artwork had received awards through the Veterans Affairs.

Mike is survived by his parents, William and Ilse Burton, of Monett; one brother, Frank Burton, of Joplin; one sister, Anna Thomas and husband Tod, of Monett; his aunts and uncles, Madge Larkin, Elizabeth and Don Pennel, Emma Jean and Bob McCormick, Phyllis Burton, Judy Burton and Sam Burton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by two sisters, Madge Meadows and Jeanette Wolfe.

Memorial services are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the D.A.V. in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
