Gwendolyn Rae (Hise) Miller, 78, of Perry, Oklahoma. She was born on March 23, 1940 in the small community of Lucien, Oklahoma. She was born to her parents Everett and Mona Hise. Gwendolyn Miller passed into the loving arms of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
Monday, August 6, 2018 in Perry, Oklahoma.
Gwendolyn grew up in the Lucien community with 4 other siblings. She attended and graduated from Hayward High School. She married James Leroy Miller on September 27, 1958 and they had 4 wonderful children. They raised their family in Covington, Oklahoma, but also lived in a few other places here and there.
She worked as a homemaker for most of her life. Her favorite thing to do was take care of her family. She was a loving and sweet mother, grandmother, and wife who never missed an event that her children would attend. Gwendolyn enjoyed her cowboy shows, such as the John Wayne movies, The Virginian, Rawhide, and the list goes on and on. In her earlier years she would paint. She loved to paint and sketch, but as she aged her arthritis wouldn't allow her that hobby. She stared collecting rocks and going out to play bingo. After she had all of the kids out of the house, her and James loved to go out and ride the country side. They would occasionally go as far as Arizona.
She would volunteer some of her time to taking care of the elderly. Gwendolyn was a caregiver whether it was for her elderly patients or her own family, she loved to be able to give to others.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Renee Hannum and her husband James of Perry, Oklahoma, Wayne Miller and his wife Kimberly of Covington, Oklahoma, James Miller and his wife Julie of Perry, Oklahoma and Steve Miller of Perry, Oklahoma; Her mother, Monna Fern (Adkins) Hise; brother, Bobby Hise and his wife Juanita of Perry, Oklahoma; sisters, Beverly Gilley and her husband Dean of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Linda Kaiser and her husband Mike of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James; father, Everett; sister and brother-in-law.
