Son of Thomas Jefferson Cox and his first wife, Madora Hodges. The informant was his wife, Mrs Ada B. Cox. He was a retired railroad switchman.

He married Miss Ada Belle Holman on August 21, 1906 at the Missionary Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas.
_______________
His marriage record and the records of his children, show the maiden name of his wife Ada Belle was "Holman" and census records show she was born in Arkansas, but her death certificate shows she was born in Texas. It shows that her mother was Virginia Freeman and shows in error that her father was Henry Lou Allen (her father was Henry A Holman). The informant for her death certificate was their son, Rev Holman Cox (Ivy Holman Cox).

Virginia Freeman was born November 28, 1861 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and married Henry A Holman there in 1881 (marriage date from Family Tree records). Their first two children, Ella and Virginia, were born in Alabama. Their third child, Ada Belle Holman, was born in 1885 in Arkansas, according to family tree and census records.
