Funeral Service for Mr. Wayne Clayton Crawford, 72, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park with Veteran Honors provided by the Alexander City Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Crawford passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Birmingham VA Medical Center. He was born on May 21, 1947 in Ashland, Alabama to Leonard Clayton Crawford and Nannie Bell Hunter Crawford. Wayne went out with a fight,symbolic of the life he lived. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for many years at Madix Store fixtures where he made many lifelong friends. He had a colorful personality and a great sense of humor. Wayne was a loving man who would have done anything for anyone. His love for family and friends was evident in everything he did.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eloise Crawford of Alexander City; daughter, Lisa Crawford Gosa Todd) of Roanoke; son, David W. Crawford (Colette) of Northport; grandchildren, Jacob Mann of Anchorage, AK, Skylar Davis (Matthew) of Anchorage, AK, Kelsey Gosa of Roanoke, Jaycee Gosa of Roanoke and Cole Crawford of Northport; great-grandchild Oaklee Wade of Roanoke; brothers, James Thomas "Tom" Crawford of Remlap, Travis Eugene Crawford of Sycamore and Jerry Crawford (Marty) of Crandell, TX; sisters, Patsy Marie Young of Alexander City and Tammy Ogles of Sylacauga and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard "Sonny" Crawford and Steven Crawford and granddaughter, Krysta Mann.
