Mrs. Gwen Elaine Price, age 63, of the Romans Ridge section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Monday (December 1, 2014) at her home. Born July 23, 1951 in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Coria Ellen Plaster Saunders. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a former member of the New Garden Rescue Squad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Shelton and Sharon Wicks, and one brother, Wayne Saunders.
Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, Leon Price of the home; one daughter, Donna Price Kestner and husband, Gary of Bristol, Virginia; one son, Chris Price of Honaker; granddaughter, Kaitlin Price; two sisters, Sandy Osborne of Horton Ridge and Debbie Horne of Raven; four brothers, Ricky Saunders of Swords Creek, Dave Saunders of Raven, Frasier Sanders of North Carolina, and Steve Saunders of Richlands; her mother-in-law, Earlene Price; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Stephen Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Price Cemetery near the home.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
