Charles W. Mathis, 95, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
He was born in Nashville, TN on April 6, 1924.

Mr. Mathis spent most of his career as a machine operator with Harris Press Printing. He had a passion for his family, his country, and Lorrie Morgan.
Charles was a Christian and was baptized later in life at the age of 74 on August 23, 1998.

Mr. Mathis is survived by four daughters, Melinda Mathis Cronk (Leon), Melissa Dawoud (Tony), Michelle Mathis, and Marla Cleveland (Isaac); eight grandchildren, Nicolys Holder (Genna), Devin Holder (Mandie), Alyssa Holder (Allen), Elijah Dawoud, Bradley Mathis, Brandon Mathis (Samantha), Camry Mathis, and Kamdon Mathis; six great grandchildren, Ansley Holder, Ava Holder, Harley & Charles Vongsavath, Zayvon Stewart, and Khary Lawrence; and one sister, Nadine Bigley.

Mr. Mathis is preceded in death by his parents, Murrell & Callie Mathis; three brothers Murrell, Bobby, and Billy Mathis; and 6 sisters, Margaret Benderman, Mary J. Scott, Marjorie A. Catlette, Dorothy Perry, Virginia Hilam, and Jane Jones.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from four o'clock until seven o'clock on the evening of Saturday, December 7 and one hour prior to the service on December 8 at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Mathis will be conducted by - at eleven-thirty in the morning on Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. Committal to follow immediately in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
