SIKESTON — Katie Ruth Lee, 80, died Nov. 26, 2019, at her home.
Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Vanduser, Mo., daughter of the late William and Annie Jefferson Kellum, she attended Buck Ridge School and later served as a teacher for the Benton Head Start in Benton. She later obtained her certified nurse's assistance license and was employed at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston until her retirement. She was of the Baptist belief and attended New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City.
On Sept. 9, 1969, in Haywood City, she married Neglasper Lee, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and Charles Johnson of Topeka, Kan., and Bridgett Lee of Sikeston; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at noon Friday at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Haywood City, with the Rev. Alex Sims, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Morning Star Cemetery at Haywood City with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
