Joe Louis Carpenter, Jr., age 57, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Tennova Healthcare.


Joe was born October 9, 1962, in Jackson, MS, to Joe Louis Carpenter, Sr. and Erma Lee Polk.


Mr. Carpenter was a US Army retiree. He was a loving, patient man who wanted the best for you. He was an encourager, a risk-taker, helpful, bold, and honest. He was a man of his word, and he walked his life how he talked.


A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, December 6, at 10:30 AM, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Gary Kenney officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville.


In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his wife, Karla Carpenter of Clarksville; two sons, Tremayne Joel Bolden of Canton, MS and Haley A. (Knarvie) Carpenter of Grovetown, GA; daughter, Albany Carpenter of Dayton, OH; sister, Regina K. Carpenter of Jackson, MS; five grandchildren, DeShawn Wilder, Jerrell Wilder, Tremayne Bolden, Jr., Kenya Carpenter, and Kamille Carpenter; and aunts, Mary Ruth Polk, Desa Edwards, and Nicie Denson.


Pallbearers will be Tracy White, Shaundrick Wilson, Jimmy Young, Mark Newman, David Young, and Anthony Wheat.


Arrangements are entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, Clarksville, TN.
