Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” (Salazar) Perez, daughter of the late Robert and Anna Salazar was born January 26, 1954, and reunited with her family in the presence of God on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
Becky graduated from Wapato High School in 1972 and was a faithful Wapato Wolf. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Robert Perez in 1975. Together they worked hard to provide a loving home for their children.
Becky began her working career at the Parker Heights School. She frequently spoke about her love for the school and how she kept in touch with former students. Becky then worked for the Wapato School District for over 30 years as a teachers assistant and later as a Bilingual Records Clerk.
Becky was a lifelong member of Templo Cristiano of the Assemblies of God in Wapato. She served the Lord humbly and loved to work with the children. She was a Sunday school teacher, led many vacation bible schools and was a Children’s Church teacher for many years. She also enjoyed hosting the Good News Club in her home for the children in her neighborhood.
Over the years, Becky enjoyed supporting her children in their extracurricular activities in school and attending Wapato High School basketball games. She enjoyed spending her weekends with her grandchildren and finding all of the good yard sales with her husband. Becky was a selfless, loving, and kindhearted woman of God. Never wanting anything in return, she was always willing to feed, clothe, or lend a helping hand to those in need. She never judged a book by its cover and was quick to forgive, and easy to love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bobby and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her best friend and husband, Robert; her sons Robert (Rachel) Perez, Richie Perez, and David Perez; her daughter Krystal (Alfredo) Quintero; her grandchildren Eva, Sarai, and Alfredo (Juney) Quintero; Daniel and Joshua Perez and several close friends that she considered family.
A celebration of Becky’s life will happen on Saturday, December 7th at 9:30 am at the Templo Cristiano church located at 501 W. 2nd St. in Wapato. Immediately after the service we will be laying her to rest at the Reservation Community Memorial Park.
