Donna Mae Hansen, 92, lifelong Superior resident, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Harmony House in Superior. She was born on November 6, 1927 in Superior, WI to Fred and Carrie (Jacobson) Jackson.

She was an elementary teacher for the School District of Superior for over thirty-five years retiring in 1985. Donna married William Hansen and they celebrated forty-four years of marriage before his passing in February 2007.

She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she taught kindergarten age children, sang in the choir and was a member of the Lydia Circle Bible Study. She also was a member of the Superior Area Retired Teachers Association, UMD University for Seniors and the Sons of Norway. Donna and her husband William loved to travel.

Donna is survived by her cousin, Shirleyann Brandser and her family, Oscar (Beth) Brandser and their daughter, Kathleen (Kyle) Standen and John (Blanche) Brandser and his children, Eric (Brittany), Jessica and Kate; cousin, Patricia Luder and her family, Ada (Steve) Ledin and their children, Billy, Tony and Alexandra, Les (Karin Lyke) Luder and William Luder and his children, Joey and Benjamin; niece, Nancy Hansen and her two daughters, Elin (Collin) Neugebauer and Elizabeth Burley. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband William.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Avenue, Superior and continue until the 11:00 AM funeral service with Pastor Michelle Rowell officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Superior.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Harmony House for the wonderful care Donna received during her stay. Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Donna’s name to Concordia Lutheran Church.
