Robert "Bob" Wayne McClain 86, of Pineville passed away on Monday December 2, 2019 following a long illness. Bob was a graduate of Mullens High School, and received a baseball and basketball scholarship to WV Tech in Montgomery, he graduated with his teaching degree in 1955. He went on to teach in Wyoming County, where he coached and was also a long time basketball official, He then went on to retire from the State Department of Rehabilitation, and was secretary of the Clear Fork Valley Golf Course, he kept the golf ball he made his hole in one with.

Born February 28, 1933 in Mullens, he was the son of the late Elman Wayne McClain (1905-1949) and Irene Jackson Cook-McClain (1908-Deceased). In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie D. "Mr. Ed" McClain (1935-2014); and his sister, Elizabeth "Elaine" McClain-Huffman (1938-Deceased).

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley "Ann" Cozort-McClain (B. 1938) whom he married on August 30, 1956 in Ravencliff, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1956, Page 296, Application Date: August 27, 1956); two sons, Bobby McClain & wife Lisa McClain of Charlotte, TN, and Jerry McClain of Pineville; his daughter, Kelly McClain-Edwards of Las Vegas, NV; his brother, Jimmy McClain of Muncie, IN; his grandchildren, Morgan McKinney & husband Terry McKinney of Newport News, VA; Benjamin Edwards of Princeton, Dustin Edwards & wife Emily Edwards of Saulsville, Zak McClain of Charlotte, TN; his great grandchild, Jameson McKinney of Newport News, VA; and a host of dear friends.

A memorial service will be held for Bob on Friday December 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Evans-Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville. Friends may gather with the family from Noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated.
