Gary Malcus Couch, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at The Waters of Scottsburg. He was born on December 7, 1944 in Harlan, Kentucky, the son of the late Givens and Rella (Barger) Couch.

Gary graduated from Evarts High School in Evarts, Kentucky and then served his country in the Vietnam War as a SP5 (T) in the U.S. Army. He was married on November 16, 1968 to Kathy (Cooper) Couch and they recently celebrated 51 years together. Gary was retired foreman at R.W. Murray Construction in Louisville, Kentucky, where he worked for 12 years and a former employee at old Marble Hill Power Plant. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana, the U.A.W. Carpenters Union and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a grandson, Andre Malcus Cozart; a brother, Kerney Couch and two sisters, Margaret Kissling and Avanell Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Couch; a son, Gary B. Couch (Samantha) of New Albany, Indiana; two daughters, Kristy Couch (Heather Burkett) of Angola, Indiana and Kelly Moyer (Brett) of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Kenny Couch (Linda) of New Albany, Indiana and Brownlow Couch of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Vera Couch of Phoenix, Arizona and seven grandchildren, Bailey, Garrett, Olivia and Brooks Couch, Abbie and Maggie Cozart and Maverick Moyer.

Funeral Service: 7:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home with Phil Miller officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 pm Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Cremation is requested following services with burial and military graveside services at a later date in Scaffold Lick Cemetery.
