Don grew up in Pleasant Grove on the Ellis family farm where they raised cherries and sheep. He loved the mountains and spending time in the foothills of Pleasant Grove and swimming in the canal. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter, snowmobiler, boater and had a passion for the ocean. Many summers were spent in Gold Beach Oregon. He worked at Geneva Steel for 27 years.
He taught four daughters how to fish, hunt, shoot a gun, and be self-reliant strong women.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Arlene and four daughters: Joy (Mike, deceased) Sidwell, Tammy (Gary) Rowan, Carol (Rick) Zierse and Becky Marshall; 19 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and brother: Louis (Bertha) Ellis. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Max Ellis and Grant Ellis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 12:00-12:45 pm prior to services.
