Mr. Eddie E. Ackeret, 81, of Seymour, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born in Seymour to the late Harry G. Ackeret, Sr. and Myrtle (Russell) Ackeret.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday at 10:30 am with Rev. Justin Ackeret officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.
He retired from Rockwell International after several years as a Master Machinist. He just loved nature, anything to do with being outside such as hunting, fishing, or feeding animals. He also enjoyed woodworking. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner Mate and was always prepared to further serve his country.
Eddie is survived by his children, Maria (Kevin) Cole, Kevin (Diana) Ackeret; grandchildren, Janissa Cole (Ben Taylor), Jordan Cole, Whitney (Travis) Taylor, Chase (Caitlin) Ackeret; great-grandchildren, Harrison Taylor, Liam Taylor, Rowan Taylor, Rylie Taylor; brother, Scott (Betsy) Ackeret; sisters, Janet Ziegler, Marcia (Byron) Merrick, Brenda (Ricky) Collins as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry G. "Sonny" Ackeret, Jr., Russell Ackeret, John Ackeret; sister, Sharon K. Houser.
