Carolyn LaRae Pearson Peterson went to join her husband in our Heavenly Father’s arms on November 30, 2019.

LaRae was born in Salt Lake City on January 17, 1953 to Earl M. Pearson and Ada L. Thayer Pearson. LaRae graduated from Granger High School in 1971 and then went on to attend Snow College before leaving to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Los Angeles, California area.

While serving on her mission, she met her eternal companion, Morgan A. Peterson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1975. They had two sons that they were both very proud of: Randy and Scott. She had one amazing granddaughter named Cadence. She was her pride and joy as well as her reason for living. Later, Randy married and she gained two grown granddaughters: Nikki and Tasha.

LaRae worked for many years as a store manager for Kitchen Collection, Inc. in the Draper Outlet Mall as well as the Tanger Outlet Mall. She was able to retire and spend quality time with her granddaughter. She was proud to be called Mom by Brian Spahr, Aaron Owen, and Daniel Souza.

LaRae is survived by her sons, Randy M. (Joy) Peterson and Scott A. (Amy) Peterson; granddaughters, Cadence Mae Peterson, Nichole Higbee, and Natasha Higbee; and brothers, Benjamin Pearson and Russell L. Pearson; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Michael D. Pearson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy. Viewings will be held at the same location on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
