He was a member of the Bethlehem No. 2 Baptist Church until his health failed. He attended the schools of Madison County Schools. He later went into manufacturing work at several local factories such McCowart-Bruce Lumber Company. He was loved by many and affectionately known as “Cool Lee”
He was preceded in death by his father: Richard Cole Sr; brothers: Charlie Cole, Lionell Cole and Major Perry.
He leaves to cherish his passing a loving mother: Maple Inell Cole Branch; a dear sister: Janice Cole Hamby of Paducah, Kentucky; brothers: Richard Cole, Jr., Rev. Cecil (Doris) Cole, John (Ann) Cole all of Jackson, Tennessee; Chester (Gloria) Cole of Olympia, Washington; Quentin (Katrina) Cole of Antioch, Tennessee; Calvin (Denise) Cole of Columbia, South Carolina; Jimmy (Tanya) Cole of Florence, Kentucky; a very close friend: James “Bo Bo” Cobb and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, many relatives and friends
