OBITUARY
Mr. Barry Lynn Sims
September 5, 1959 – November 30, 2019

Barry Lynn Sims, 60, passed on to his heavenly home Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Ken Norris will officaite. Barry was born Sept. 5, 1959. He graduated from Carbon Hill High School. He worked for Alabama Power for 40 years at Gorgas and Miller Steam Plants. He loved Alabama football but loved his family most of all. His greatest joy came from watching his kids and grandkids play any kind of ball. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Pam Barton Sims; children, Ashley Gilbert, Brian Sims (Dede), Stacie Clark (Jason), Justin Tidwell (Amy), and Macie Clark; grandchildren; Cameron Gilbert, Dalton Gilbert, Samantha Sims, Amy Sims, Joley Sims and Ty Sims, Jessica Clark and Jacie Clark; great granddaughter, Layla Watts; parents, Hoyt and Faye Sims; brother, Andy Sims (Cindy); sisters, Kim Wisdom (Tommy), and Kaye Sims; and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to his favorite charities Ruff Rescue and St. Jude or to Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Research at Mayo Clinic.
