Penny Gillespie King, age 65, passed away on December 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family members. She was born on September 11, 1954, to Mary Gillespie and the late Norman Gillespie. She grew up in Pendleton County, Kentucky, and resided in Jeffersonville, Indiana, for the past 13 years. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, shopping and socializing.
Survivors include: a son, Dwain (Misti) Paynter; two step-daughters, Dawn King and Dana (Mark) Tucker; grandchildren, Dylan (Regan) Paynter, Nicholas Paynter and Madison Paynter; siblings, Bonnie (Reggie) Windham, Gennie (Sharon) Gillespie, Joyce (Jim) Brown, Tony (April) Gillespie, Kaye (late Wade) Scaggs and Tammy Gillespie; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family members; and many loving friends. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Patty Courtney.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, at Peoples Funeral Home, in Butler. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pendleton County Relay for Life, in memory of Penny King, or to the charity of your choice.
