Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Mae Carr will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Brian Gunter officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Carr, 75, of Pollock, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 29, 2019, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.
She enjoyed working in her flower beds and tending to the hummingbirds. She dedicated her life to caring for her children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Blas and Dora Christian; one son, Joseph Jimmy Carr; three daughters, Monica Carr, Betty Howell and Sonja Bertrand; three brothers, Frank Christian, Teddy Christian and Donnie Christian and two sisters, Janice Cooper and Diana Lamartinere.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her longtime companion, Charles McKay, of Cloutierville; one son, Michael Carr, of Pollock; six grandchildren, Michael "Doodle" Carr, Jr., David Carr, Cecil Howell, Lyric Rogers, Dorie Green and Sarah Crowell; three special grandchildren that she raised, Jessica McGoogan, Gabrielle Bennett and Lathsia Rachal; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
