Kenneth "Kenny" Edward White, 68, of Speedway, died peacefully Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Charleston Area Medical Center. Kenneth went to Hinton High School, and then worked at Acme Supermarkets for ten years. He then worked for Hydraulic Incorporated and retired from Industrial Plating in Princeton as a machinist. He was a member of Rich Creek Baptist Church at Spanishburg. Kenneth was devoted to his family, being a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid outdoorsman; Kenneth especially loved working on his farm and raising cattle. Kenneth will be remembered as a God fearing man.

Born November 27, 1945 in Mercer County, he was the son of Elaine Claudia Lilly-White (1929-2018) of Speedway and the late Glen Edward White (1923-1992).

Survivors include his devoted wife of 49 years, Phyllis Jane Freeman-White (B. 1945) whom he married on July 31, 1965 in Hinton, Summers County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Summers County, WV, 1965, Page 104, Record 48, Application Date: July 15, 1945); son, Shannon Edward White & wife Jennifer White; a grandson, Shannon Cameron White; his four siblings, David White & wife Sheila White, Carol White-Asbury & husband Ernest Asbury, Missy White-Kinzer & husband Steve Kinzer, all of Speedway, Bonnie White-Matherly & husband Ross Matherly of Lerona; a host of nieces and nephews; and his faithful four legged companions, Buddy & Emma.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ralph Calfee officiating. Burial will follow in the White-Pennington Cemetery at Speedway.
