Henry Gerald Armstrong, Sr., 74, of Clear Fork, WV, formerly of Whitman passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Bland County nursing and Rehab, Bastian, VA. Henry was of the Church of God faith. Henry worked as a truck driver, and was a retired and disabled coal miner. He was a United States Army Veteran, a chef, and state road worker. He loved doing anything outdoors. He enjoyed eating and drinking his Pepsi. He loved his wife dearly and loved taking care of his children and grandchildren. He also loved southern gospel music and CCR.

He was born on April 29, 1945 in Braeholm, WV, a son of the late William Henry Armstrong (Deceased) and Margaret Chafin-Armstrong-McCoy (1918-1998). In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Amaziah "Emzi" McCoy (1923-1979); and two grandchildren, Hunter Chance Whitney (Deceased) and Ashlyn Miah Belcher (2013-2017).

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years Judy Justus-Armstrong; eight children, Candice Armstrong-Whitney, Angela Armstrong-Hilling, Roger Lee Justus, Brandon Justus, Miranda Armstrong-Smith, Tashia Armstrong, Henry "J.R." Armstrong & companion Brittany Hager and Martinia Armstrong-Fox; three brothers, Kenneth "Butch" McCoy, Tim McCoy and Jackie Boy Armstrong; three sisters, Sue Carpenter, Barbara Christian and Betty Timmons; twelve grandchildren, William Jack Armstrong, Hayden Shae Belcher, Drake Douglas Justus, Dalton Edward Justus, Christine Hilling, Elija Hilling, Jorja Rayne Armstrong, Aiden Orange, Ryder Orange, Kieran Fox, Taylor Smith and Madison Smith; his best friends Gary, Jonathan and Sheldon Ellis; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Br. Lonnie Paul Compton officiating. He will be laid to rest in Hager Cemetery, Elk Lick, WV.
