Elza C. Raisor, age 82 of Defoe, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit. He was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth Chadwell Raisor, member of Union Baptist Church, WWII Army veteran where he earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon and Victory Metal and WWII Army of Occupation Metal Japan. He was also a carpenter and a farmer.
He is survived by one son, Dewey Raisor, Defoe; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Alice Wentworth Raisor, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 9 at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville. Bro. Paul Harvey, Crossroads Lighthouse, officiated. Internment was in Defoe Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Julian Jamison, Jonathan Raisor, Larry Raisor, George Shaw and Billy Joe Stivers.
Pallbearers were Chris Bright, Jeromy DeSpain, John DeSpain, James Jamison, Ray Raisor and Alex Shaw.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Louisville.
