He was born June 28, 1934, in Detroit, Mich., and was a retired U.S. Air Force Major.
He leaves his wife, Frances; one daughter, Jana McDonald; two sons, David and Curtis; his father, Benjamin; two sisters, six brothers; and four grandchildren. (As of 2022 he has 8 grandchildren).
Greer-Wilson Funeral Home made the arrangements.
Note Added by his son David:
Roger flew the F-104 his entire Air Force career, including a year during the Vietnam war, where he flew out of Thailand.
On p. 31 of this article: https://www.safety.af.mil/Portals/71/documents/Magazines/FSM/1960s/196310%20-%20AerospaceSafety.pdf it describes him saving an F-104 he was ferrying to Europe over the Atlantic. He was awarded a flying medal for this save.
Roger was very proud that he never lost an aircraft in 20 years in the Air Force. He made exactly the same number of landings as take offs and he was very happy about that!
