Ronnie loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, but his most precious memories were made with his family and especially the times shared with his grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished.
He will be remembered as a faithful member and servant of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for forty-three years, where he served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and bus driver for the Children’s ministry. He was a quiet man who lived a Godly life and was always there for his family and friends to give good solid Biblical advice when needed. He will be missed by not only his family but also his church family, both of whom he loved very much.
He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Carol Willis of Crossett; two daughters, Roxanne Dauper and husband, Todd, of McKinney, Texas, and Trudy Willis of Crossett; his mother, Velma Jean Taylor Willis of Crossett; two sisters, Melinda Craig and husband, Riley, of Hamburg, and Martha Josey and husband, Gary, of Crossett; and five grandchildren, Matt, Madison and Maci Barnett all of Crossett, and Kylie and Cole Dauper of McKinney, Texas; along with a host of friends and loving church family.
A Christian Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1533 State Hwy 52 W, Crossett, with pastors Eric Hodge and Travis Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Bill Rodger, Mike Smith, Mike Shirley, George Stagg, Rusty McCone, and Harry Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Kinard, Sercy Thomas, Mike Griffin, Tommy Strebeck, John Pennington, and Charles Strebeck.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
