Kenneth Curtis January 09, 1928 - November 29, 2019
Kenneth Curtis, 91, a resident of Ozark Nursing Home passed away Friday, November 29, 2019. He was born January 9, 1928 in Pelsor, Arkansas to Troy and Frankie Casey Curtis. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Troy D. Curtis, Jr. and his sister, Alma Bernice Cowan.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Hardin and husband Bob of Bentonville; a brother, Jim Curtis and wife Vicki of Germantown, TN; and in later years of his life his affairs were managed by his beloved cousin, Lonnie Turner.
Kenneth Graduated from Ozark High School in 1946 and then went on to attend two years at Arkansas Tech in Russellville before entering the United States Army in September of 1950. While there, he attained the rank of Master Sergeant as well as earning both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal. Finally he earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, 1st Award. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in December 1951 he returned to Ozark and he worked as a Field Service Rep for the Soil Conservation and Stabilization Service for the U.S. Government until his retirement. Afterwards he worked for several other local businesses. Kenneth enjoyed his friends and family, he loved to golf and hunt among many other interests. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2019 at Highland Cemetery with Lonnie Turner officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
