Married in front of the fireplace in The Great Hall to Debby Duffy (Maurer) in 1985.
He died at home with a view of the lake, Nov 19, 2019, surrounded by his cats and his art. Many thanks to the caregivers at The Normandy Care Center, and especially his Hospice nurses and aids from Cypress Hospice.
Born in Indianapolis in 1928, he would have turned 91 on Thanksgiving Day this year.
He leaves his best friend, Debby, her two sons Sid and Matthew Maurer, his daughters, Dana Young Rezabek (Lawrence) and Amanda Young Thornburg (James), his grandson Dale Ryan Young (Radesha) and great granddaughter Charlotte.
His oldest son, Dale Montgomery Young preceded him in death several years ago.
Mr. Young was a body donor to The Cleveland Clinic, where he requested to be known as 'Abra Cadaver'.
A Celebration of his life in music and art will be held sometime in January, details to follow.
