Private Travis Hill was inducted into the US Army for World War I on August 21, 1918, in Brunswick County, NC. He served at the School for Bakers and Cooks at Camp Greene, NC. Pvt Hill was honorably discharged on March 12, 1919.

An application for military headstone was completed at his death by Dewain F. Feller, Director, Mon. Co. Vet. Service Agency on Dec 20, 1960, and was approved.
