William F. Heck Sr.
June 19, 1932-November 29, 2019 William Forrest Heck Sr., age 87 of Monroe, passed away the afternoon of Friday November 29, 2019 at Medilodge, surrounded by his loving family.

William was born June 19, 1932 in Monroe, MI to the late Forrest and Lois (Ehnis) Heck. After his mother passed away when he was a young age, his father was remarried to Helen Heck, and together they raised William and his three sisters. William graduated from Monroe High School, earning his diploma in 1950. He would go on to marry the love of his life, Bernice Ellen Florian, on August 10, 1963 at Zion Lutheran Church.

William worked for 38 years as a School Bus Driver for Monroe Public Schools, but his true passion and calling was to farm. He was a faithful parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, a volunteer fire fighter for Monroe Twp., and an avid Tiger fan, even through the losing years. Above all else, William loved spending time with his family and friends.

To cherish his memory, William leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice; one son, William Forrest (Nancy) Heck Jr.; one daughter, Liesel (Jim) Riggs; one sister, Lucille (Richard) Arend; two grandchildren, Cooper and Conner Heck; three step grandchildren: Nicholas, Joey, and Allison Albano; and one step great grandchild, Gianna Albano.

Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by two sisters: Marguerite (the late Jasper) Shields and Kathleen (the late Clinton) Walter.

Family and friends may visit from 2-6pm at Rupp Funeral Home on Sunday December 1, 2019. William will lie in state at 10am on Monday December 2, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where a service celebrating his life will be held at 11am. Rev. Jeffrey Heimsoth, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
