OBITUARY:

Nedra Allen has returned to peace and companionship this 23rd day of November 2006 after fighting a near-year long battle to breathe. It is the "life" that filled her years with us that we will most frequently remember. Her straight forward approach, work ethic, compassion and service will most definitely define the life which she infused within her years and each individual that she knew and influenced. Her wisdom, love, and humor will be a beacon within the memory of each who knew her.

Her story began on July 15, 1933, when she was brought into this world by her endearing parents Reed and Gertrude Leishman. Though the sun has set a final time on the horizon of this beautiful life - her unconditional adoration for people will live on within the hearts of those whom she has touched. A woman whose life was filled with passion — united her passion for time and eternity with the man of whom she adored on April 18, 1951, as she wed Albern L. Allen in the Logan LDS Temple. Their love, adoration, and respect for each other were insatiable and authenticated a faith in love for everyone that they knew. They were a firm foundation for one another and their posterity throughout their lives and even after their passing.

For each of us blessed by knowing Nedra, we may not fully understand her until we have lived at least for a moment as she did. She gave wholeheartedly of herself without the need of recognition. She taught although she never knew herself as a teacher and did so with the most adequate and effective method available, her example. We each could learn an invaluable lesson of faith and endurance through recalling the upright and unscathed perseverance with which she lived.

For anyone who received a Father Christmas, Old World Santa, or replica wedding dress and doll, it was most definitely more than enough - even though to Nedra there needed to be more. She spent countless hours in the stages of development and creation of these timeless gifts among friends. Nedra found refuge within the patchwork of the lives of those she served and for whom she did temple work. She often sought out the peace of the temple as a safe haven from the rocky, oft unpaved road of life. It was there she gained faith, knowledge, and an even deeper compassion for humankind. Nestled within her heart were her family, her friends, and her Savior. She is sheltered and protected within the memory of her family. She is fondly remembered with love and compassion by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. Her children and their spouses: Brent (Debra) Allen, Kevin Allen, Kathleen (Jeddie) AI-Imari, Lesa (Scott) Jenson, and Justin (Shaunda) Allen. Her siblings and their spouses: Arlene (Gaylen) Jensen, Reed (Lois) Leishman, Dixie (Gary) Clawson, Roland (Ruth) Leishman, Annette (Lamar) Leishman, Seldon (Susan) Leishman and her brother-in-law Gerald (Betty) Allen. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Leishman. Her many grandchildren and great–grandchildren will miss her everlasting endearment and compassion.

A heart felt thank you and blessing is bestowed upon the many friends and family members that have supported Nedra throughout her wonderful life. Also, to the people of the Sunshine Terrace and to each of you whose uncanny ability to serve with passion and patience permitted Nedra to keep her strong willed determination throughout even the most difficult and waning moments of the past year. Thank you with peace, love, and respect.
