He was the son of Minnie Eaton of Metlakatla, and Floyd Williams. His parents were unmarried. As it was told to family, Floyd and Minnie were both part of the Eagle clan, which is why they couldn't marry one another. It is suspected Raymond wasn't well cared for when in the care of Floyd and Minnie, although a straight story as to why he passed away could never be found. After his death, his younger sister, Ruby, was taken away from the couple by their maternal grandparents.
Raymond was buried in the Bayview Cemetery on September 5, 1933.
