Earl W. Campbell "Gub", 85 years old, of Newport, passed away November 28, 2019. He was born September 24, 1934 in Markelsville to Harold and Estella (Zeigler) Campbell. He was a
veteran of the US Army and retired from Perry Petroleum. He was a member of the Newport American Legion and was an avid wood worker.
Earl is survived by his wife, Helen (Jacobs) Campbell; son, Doug Campbell and wife Vicki of Elliottsburg; brother, Glenn Campbell of New Bloomfield; sister, Helen Groff of Newville; grandchildren Tyler Campbell and Stephanie Walker and great grandson, Landon Walker. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Cassel and brothers, John, Frank Elwood and Robert Campbell.
Services will be held Monday, December 9 with a Graveside Service at 11 AM in the Newport Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 1 PM at the Newport Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Road, Newport with Pastor Mary Kay Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation or American Cancer Society.
