BROWNFIELD- Ralph C Lewis, age 64, died on November 28, 2019 surrounded by his family at Maine Medical center in Portland Maine.
He was the youngest son born to Hellen and George Lewis in February of 1955 in North Conway New Hampshire. He grew up in Brownfield Maine with sisters Rosie, Louise, Barbara, Edith, Laura, Brenda, and Pamela, and brother Carol.
Ralph joined the Army in 1974 and served for 4 years before later joining the Army National Guard and serving 18 more years. His time in the military provided him with many stories to tell, especially of his time stationed in Germany. Although many of his stories were not suitable for public consumption, he loved telling them anyway! He was a man who always said what was on his mind with no apology. He liked being known as someone who told it like it was! His kids have fond memories of their father teaching them a ridiculous dance move he insisted was popular in Germany at the time.
In 1996 Ralph fulfilled his dream of opening his own garage in his hometown of Brownfield where he worked as a mechanic and car salesman. He never liked taking orders from anyone else so being his own boss was a great source of pride.
On July 4, 2006 Ralph got married for the 3rd time to the love of his life, Linda Davis. He said he finally found the right women in Linda, she held her own and gave it right back to him when he ran his mouth!
Ralph is pre-deceased by his father George Lewis, his stepfather Arthur Blake, and older brother "baby" George Lewis.
He leaves behind his loving wife Linda, his mother Hellen Blake, and 8 siblings. He is survived by his sons James Lewis, and Curtis Lewis, and his daughters Tessa Lewis Walker, and Stacey Mitchell, his stepdaughters Julie Allen, and Rebecca Kelly, daughter-in-law Rebecca Lewis, and son-in-law Shawn Mitchell.
Ralph will be remembered as a hard worker who loved his family, loved to party, and lived life his way. Those closest to him knew that under his rough exterior he had a big heart and would do anything for the people he loved. If he was able to say good bye he'd tell us all "to be good, or be real bad"!
