BEAVER CITY, NE -- Donald G. Gardner, 83, of Beaver City, NE, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Norton County Hospital at Norton, Kansas.

He was born July 28, 1923, in Gosper County, Nebraska, to George and Daisy (Morse) Gardner.

He served 32 months in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He received his purple heart from injuries on March 30, 1944.

He married Norma Lea David on Aug. 30, 1944, at Norton, Kansas.

He attended McCook Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Vernon and Duane.

Survivors include wife, Norma of Beaver City, NE; two daughters, Janet and husband, Ron McClain of Beaver City, NE, and Dawna and husband, Clark Bates of McCook, NE; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Margie Gardner of Arapahoe, NE; six children; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be July 19, 2007, at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe, Nebraska.
