Marilyn Louise Peterson 92, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 16, 2020. Marilyn was born January 26, 1928 in Raritan, Illinois to Spencer and Mary (Haines) Corzatt. She grew-up on her family farm with her four brothers Keith, Kenneth, Raymond and James and sister, Dorothy. She graduated from Media High School. She was married to Gilbert M. Moburg on November 27, 1947. She had three sons, Kevin, Steve, and Jeff. Gilbert was killed in a farming accident in 1956. Marilyn moved to Monmouth where she obtained her hairdressing license. She was self-employed as a hairdresser for over 35 years. She married Max Peterson on July 4, 1960. Max had three children; Jackie, Jerry, and Sharon. Max and Marilyn moved to Rockford, Illinois in 1964.

Marilyn was known for her culinary skills and her family loved her homemade cinnamon rolls, noodles, and all kinds of cookies. Marilyn had nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren who all loved her dearly. Marilyn was a God loving person. She always wore a smile on her face and she was kind to everyone she met. Marilyn was a United Methodist. She loved to sing praise to her lord by singing in choir.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Mary (Haines) Corzatt; brothers, Keith, Kenneth and Raymond; sister, Dorothy; husbands Gilbert and Max, and son, Kevin. She is survived by her children, Jackie (Tracy) Mitchell, Jerry (Mindy) Peterson, Sharon Wessels, Steve (Debra) Moburg and Jeff (Sherri) Moburg; nine grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be at a later date in 2021. The family would like to thank Wesley Willows staff and Mercy Hospice for their care in Marilyn's last few weeks on this earth. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
