Elizabeth Grace Bigley, age 91, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Freeman Hospital West. Grace was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Gatesville, Texas. She had lived in Joplin since 1941. Grace was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Heartland Doll Club. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Bigley; and a grandson, James R. Byrd. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Bigley; and a grandson, James R. Byrd. Survivors include two sons, Tom Byrd and wife, Jeannie and James A. Byrd and wife, Gail, Joplin; four daughters, Henrietta McCoy, Cypress, Calif., Georgia Fletchall, Joplin, Francis Atkinson, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Dorothy Phillips and husband, Martin, Irving, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. John Newberry will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions are requested to the Bethel Baptist Church or the Joplin Association of the Blind. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary, of Joplin.
