GREENVILLE — Grace Burchfield Sanders, 90, passed away on Oct. 12, 2018, surrounded by her family, at Windsor Nursing Home. She was born on Dec. 5, 1927, to Thomas D. Burchfield and Carrie McDaniel Burchfield in Sunflower County. She attended Wade Schools. She married J.B. Sanders on April 28, 1945. She worked for Greenville Mills, Atkins Saw and retired after 20 years from First National Bank. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville prior to moving to Columbus, where she became a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

She will be missed by her daughter, Deborah Sanders Crenshaw and her husband Bill Crenshaw, of Columbus; her grandchildren Christian Sanders, of New York, Allen Sanders (Erin), of Greenville, Landon Sanders, of Starkville, Grant Crenshaw, of Winona, Mary Grace Crenshaw, of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Avery Hunter, Lannie and Tripp Sanders, of Greenville; her brothers William "T" Burchfield, David Burchfield; sisters Peggy Coleman, Alice Landrum, Sue Allen, Charlene Fox, Stella Garrison, Shirley Sewell; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, J.B. Sanders; son, James Allen Sanders; parents, Thomas and Carrie Burchfield; step-mother, Vivian Burchfield; brothers, Dewitt Burchfield, Robert Burchfield and Jessie Burchfield; sisters, Bessie Self and Ida Boykin.

A visitation was held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville with funeral service following at 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, Baptist Children's Village or Gideons International.
