LYNCHBURG, Va. Dolly Shelton Clingempeel, age 83, of Lynchburg, died Monday, November 25, 2019, at Edley Place in Lynchburg. Born January 26, 1936, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Claude Swanson (Swannie) Shelton and Ruth Haley Shelton. She was predeceased by a brother, Haley Shelton and a sister, Margie Shelton. She received her Masters degree from Radford University and was a retired program manager for Central Virginia Training Center. Following retirement, she volunteered with Central Virginia Area Agency on Aging. Dolly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, shopping, and watching TV, especially the Big Bang Theory. She was a member of Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Skubisz and husband, Keith, of Rockwood, Tenn.; one brother, Sammy Shelton and wife, Gloria, of Gretna; two sisters, Patsy Cundiff and Kittie Shelton, both of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Madison Skubisz and Nathaniel Skubisz. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Colbert-Moran Chapel by the Rev. Douglas Gunsalus. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
