Louis Junior Willis, the first born of ten children, was born December 23, 1931, to the late Robert Louis and Mary Willis.

Louis received his education while enrolled in the Valdosta City School System. Later to show his continued support, he became a team dad for the Pinevale Bad News Bears whom he loved dearly.

Louis was a kind, compassionate, loving man who never met a stranger. He loved to engage in conversation sharing his experiences mixed with a little humor. As described by his family, Louis was very conservative, independent, assertive, business oriented, outgoing and adventurous. He loved roller coaster rides, bicycling and dancing. Louis touched the lives of many people with his huge personality. He was a dedicated employee of Langdale Forestry Products for over 32 years, where he later retired. When not enjoying the company of his family and friends, during baseball season, he could be found in front of the television supporting his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. He showed himself friendly and left a life-lasting impression through his genuine and kind spirit.

Recognizing the importance of having a Savior, he became a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the Men’s Glee Club.

On Thursday, October 22, the Lord granted Louis Junior Willis eternal rest.

In addition to his parents, Robert and Mary Willis, he is preceded in death by his wife: Ethel Louise Willis; two children: Derrell Dexter Willis and Shannon Loraine Willis; one sister: Mary Moten; two brothers: Eugene Willis and Alfonzo Willis; and his grandparents: Joshua Goins and Essie Mae Goins.

The Celebration of Life for the late Louis Junior Willis will be Saturday, October 26, 2019, 12:00 p.m., Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, Valdosta.

Pastor Tim Riser will officiate. The Senior Pastor is Tommy Goins.
