Nina M. Womack born on April 23, 1923 in Cecil, GA passed away on May 21, 2017 in Sebring, FL. Born to Jake and Nancy (Ellis) Goff, Nina was the youngest of eight older siblings and the last of the immediate family. Nina married her first husband, Frank Lee Wallace, Sr. October 5, 1940 in Sarasota, FL. They remained married until his death in May, 1965. They had 3 children. She lived on Canary Street in Sarasota until 1972 and spoke often of her fond memories as an LPN for many years at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. After Frank's death, Nina continued to work for the Sarasota Nursing Register. Nina met and married John B. Womack November, 1971 at a small Baptist Church in Sarasota, FL. They moved to Adolphus, KY in May of 1972. She worked for Kentucky Nursing Manor for three years and remained with John until his death in 1977. She moved to her son, Perry Wallace's property in Portland TN until, 2009. At that time she moved to Lake Placid, FL to live with her daughter. Nina was secretary of Garret's Creek Baptist Church, taught 3-5 year olds in Sunday school and was active in any church functions she was able to participate. She also sang on occasions for the church services. Upon returning to Florida, Nina attended Highlands Christian Assembly in Sebring with Pastor John C. Zonneveld, Jr. Nina loved the music, the Bible and the people of the church. She loved her Pastor and remarked often "he was a good fellow." She was very proud to have been able to help people through her nursing ability. She also had a passion for crocheting, gardening, flowers and her children. Nina is survived by her children, Elvy June Brewer (Paul) of Lake Placid, FL, Frank Lee Wallace, Jr. (Jan) of Bradenton, FL and Perry Mance Wallace (Nikki) of Portland, TN., her granddaughters Sherry L. High (Mark) and Alexis N. Davidson (John) of Adams, TN., two great grandchildren, Travis S. Slentz (Amanda) of Angier, NC, Leyanna Chestnut (Chris) of Palmetto, FL and two great, great grandsons, Benjamin High and Kacen Chestnut. Funeral arrangements are with Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in coordination with Highlands Christian Assembly. Viewing will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 and Friday, May 26, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 4001Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL 33870. There will be a reception in Nina's honor following the viewing on Friday at Highlands Christian Assembly, 99 Robin Street, Sebring, FL 33870. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Hopewell Memorial Park, 6730 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL 34241 also known as the "Wallace Cemetery" at 1:00 pm. Pastor John C. Zonneveld officiating as well as John P. Marlow, Elder Frank Lee Wallace, Jr., and Elder Lonnie G. Rhodes assisting. Paul bearers are Joel Zonneveld, Michael VanHyning, Richard Frost, Mike Kiernan, Richard Hand and Bon Reynolds. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in the name of Nina Womack to Highlands Christian Assembly, (mailing address: 7121 Rolling Hills Road, Sebring, FL 33876) or Bradenton Gospel Tabernacle, 1217 7th Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34208.
