Harold Lloyd “Pete” DeLap, age 84, of Merrillan, WI, formally of New Lisbon, WI., died on Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, WI. Harold was the son of William and Victoria (Sanderson) DeLapp, and was born on May 7, 1928 in New Lisbon. Harold was raised in New Lisbon until the age of 17 when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served his country for 20 years in the Navy, serving in WWII and Korea. After his military service he worked for the Virginia State Police for 19 years, later retiring and then moving to the Merrillan, WI area. Harold was married to Dorothy Klagos and she preceded him in death in 1967. Harold later was united in marriage to Geraldine (O’Leary) Wilkinson on August 24, 1987.

Harold is survived by his wife Geraldine DeLap, of Merrillian, a son; William DeLap, of Hixton, WI., daughters; Rita (Webb) Boyce, of Franklin, VA, and Kathleen Muir of Orlando, Fl., stepchildren; Kenneth (Donna Jo) Wilkinson of Sturtevant, WI., Jackie (Don) Staver of Harvard, IL., Dawn Thompson of Merrillian, WI., Vickie Gomez of Merrillian, WI., Robert Wilkinson of Humbird, WI, and by 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, His first wife, brothers Charles Henry, Edwin, and James Herbert, sisters Nancy Arebelle, Edna Mae, and Elizabeth Helen, and half siblings Ida Mae, William Austin, Benjamin Harvey, Calbert F, and Anna Faye.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 30, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon with Rev. William Dow presiding. Relatives and friends may call at the Hare Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00am till the 1:00pm time of service. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the New Lisbon City Cemetery.
